Join us for a reception on Friday, April 25th, from 7-9pm at PhotoLounge.

Hey, That's Beautiful! Where's That? What Is it? showcases the work of Edward H. Schwartz, an Elkins Park resident with a deep passion for documenting Philadelphia in pictures. Captured between the 1960s and 1980s, his collection spans over 3,000 slides.

Before his passing, Schwartz gifted this remarkable archive to the Association for Public Art, formerly Fairmount Park Art Association. A tribute to the city's rich history and enduring beauty, the collection serves as a time capsule, revealing both what has changed over the decades and what has remained the same.

In this exhibition, you'll find landmarks, alleyways, storefronts, fountains, sculptures, buildings—even trees. How many do you recognize? Can you pinpoint their locations? Have you taken any pictures of them? Through this show, we invite you not only to explore the gallery but also to rediscover the city itself. Observe it. Appreciate it. Capture it.
