From the Artist: "At a time when everyone was hidden behind masks I thought this was a pretty powerful photo the way the lighting perfectly cuts off her face, having her identity truly masked. Maybe others can relate but during the pandemic it was a period in my life where I had to reevaluate and rediscover the kind of person I wanted to be and the relationships that I wanted in my life. So this idea of not really seeing or knowing your identity in this photo really resonated with me in that way."

What We Liked: This photo is a wonderful abstract scene that captures the public loss of identity that has come as a side effect of the masked era. While masked you can smile, frown, smirk, or even stick your tongue out without anyone else being any wiser—unless your eyes give it away. Here the light and reflection combine to hide the subject’s eyes, leaving their mask and hands as last human identifiers. This is a great application of light and windows is black and white street photography.
