What We Liked: This slice of life image serves as a great reminder our smallness in the grand scheme of things. The painter and his roller are made so minuscule against the vast sky. Even the tall lamppost pales in comparison to the unending blue above. The image, practically duo-chromatic, is harmonious in both color and composition. The lines created by the manmade structures, along with the positioning of the painter’s brush, guide our gaze upward and then back down again. Overall, the negative space here is not just emptiness— it enhances the composition by evoking emotion and directing attention.
