What We Liked: We adored seeing everyone’s interpretation of solitude, from vast landscapes to small empty rooms. This photo struck us for how it captures a man in such a cinematic moment of pensive thought. Though he occupies a relatively public environment, a sense of solitude is conveyed through his facial expression and the elements—such as the cloud of steam and barrier glass—that obscure him in the frame, making him feel distant from the viewer. The warmly lit, moody scene is lovingly reminiscent of “In the Mood for Love.”
